R1 Ranged Attack(faster suport shot loading time)
R1 Suport Shot
R1 Critical Hit
Skills:(recomended)
R1 Refininging(for better balance)
R1 Carpentry(for extra dmg)
Any other Str giving skills should be ranked(i put this cause the list is endless)
Now, once these things are set and done, to do your highest its a simple process of Suport shot+Smash combo
an example of the dmg you would do is as such(using my stats as example)
dmg:102~225
Crit:45.8%
Balance:80%
Critical dmg:250%+42%+42%= 334% Dmg on a crit(i sadly dont have r6 swords tho =/)
Smash Dmg:500%
Suport shot dmg:100%
dmg calculator then goes as such
((Maxdmg*smash dmg)*critdmg)*10% of current dmg from thames)*suport shot bonus)
NOTE:this is showing your highest dmg before def/prot
((Mindmg*smash dmg)*critdmg)*10% of current dmg dmg from thames)*suport shot bonus)
NOTE:This is showing your lowest dmg before def/prot
this will give you your dmg range.
With Crit(about 1 in 3 attacks)
((225*5)*3.34)*1.1)*2=8266.5 max dmg
((102*5)*3.34)*1.1)*2=3747.48 min dmg
Without Crit
((225*5)*1.1)*2= 2475 max Dmg
((102*5)1.1)*2= 1122 min dmg
now, knowing that, lets compare this to S upgrades(used same dmg as above but added the min/max and took out R upgrades)
With Crit(about 1 in 3 attacks)
((287*5)*2.5)*1.1)*2= 7892 Max dmg
((132*5)*2.5)*1.1)*2= 3630 min dmg
Without Crit
((287*5)*1.1)*2= 3157 Max Dmg
((132*5)*1.1)*2= 1452 Min Dmg
So With these numbers as shown, lets see how the balance averages things out to
R upgrades
Crit: (8266.5-3747.48)*.8)+3747.48= 7362.296
Normal:(2475-1122)*.8)+1122= 2204.4
S upgrades:
Crit: (7892-3630)*.8)+3630= 7039
Normal:(3157-1452)*.8)+1452= 2816
Then, since crit is capped at 30, 70 of 100 hits mathematically will crit, so lets figure out total dmg in 100 hits
R upgrades
(7362.296*30)+(2204.4*70)=375148.88
S upgrades
(7039*30)+(2816*70)= 408290
So, as you can see, when duel wielding with my method, Mathmaticaly with S upgrades on duel swords you will do 33141.22 more dmg, so it seems that crit upgrades are just for high hits to show off

Something about your math is off. R type does more damage on average when your max damage (true max damage, not the stat in your char window) is higher than the numbers in the table.

Do yourself a favor and now make all the math again with a character with over 350 max. It's known since special upgrades came out that every style has a break point to where R is better than S and that break point is somewhere close to 350 max
Thus your statement of R is just for show off is plainly wrong, it is true that S>R up to a certain point but past that break point R>S anytime

Yeah, this seems rather iffy. While I (and others, I'm sure) appreciate the effort, guides shouldn't be written "in a hurry." :P
