Because Sky is too lazy too read wiki...

Here's the lazy version of how to play the game and what the game is like...

Preparation:
1. Go to DMM.com to register an account English account is fine, just set it to Japanese after register.
2. Install add-on on chrome (LINK) so you don't have to setup the vpn stuffs... (I turned off the game redirect option just for my personal preference.)
3. Wait for lottery time then go to the game page and hope you get chosen: Game Link
4. (Only if you get choosen) Pick an open server and then you are done.

Once you are in you will be set to choose 1 of the 5 Starter Ship, then you will be guided through a short tutorial.

I'll go through the main game screens and plays:

Main Screen-
A. Battle Achievements - Basically your battle stats, win/loss etc...
B. Encyclopedia - Picture collection of Battleship Girls you have collected.
C. Items - All the items you own.
D. Modelling - Change the background of main screen (optional items can be purchase with in game currency).
E. Quests - Quests you can complete for rewards.
F. Item Shop - Item Shop that sell cash shop item and modeling item.
G. Resources - 4 total from top right to bottom left: Fuel, Iron/Steel, Ammo, Bauxite. (Resources are used for battle and building).

1. Ensemble - Ensemble your fleet (unlock up to 4 Fleets).

4. Simulation quests, usually ask you to participate in certain amount of simulation battles.
5. Expedition quests, usually ask you to do a certain amount of expeditions.
6. Fleet related quests, usually ask you to form a certain fleet with certain class of units.

Mission In Progress Screen-
Once you start the mission, your fleet will travel from node to node. In this mission there are 2 routes, A-C and A-B. Red nodes means there will be battle and allies (random) may join you after battle (sometimes), there are also other nodes like the green nodes which will net you resources and event nodes that can make u lose some resources. The devil marking node marks the main enemy fleet force in this mission aka Boss. The determination on whether you will go from A to B or A to C is random on this mission, but on certain maps it is affected by the composition of your fleet or whether you have a particular unit etc.
Image

Formation Selection Screen-
Before each battle, you will have to a formation to enter the battle with. Selecting an advantage formation will result in higher hit rate and better chance at evasion. Won't cover the details, but will just briefly go over each one
A. Single V-Line Formation - Best for surface combat, bad against submarines. (Need minimum of 1 Ship)
B. Double V-Line Formation - Good for against air carriers. (Need minimum of 4 Ship)
C. Round Formation - Used to protect the Flag Ship. (Need minimum of 5 Ship, with flagship in the middle =P)
D. Slant Formation - A defensive formation. (Need minimum of 4 Ship)
E. Single H-Line Formation - Best for against submarines. (Need minimum of 4 Ship)
Image

Battle Screen-
Battle takes several phases to complete and depends on the ships in combat but it is divided between day and night. After the end of day battle, you can choose to continue the night battle or retreat. Ship entering a battle with Heavy damage (Red Mark Warning) can be sunk by enemy and will be lost forever.

In the Day phase, the battle goes through these stages:
Recon -> if you have Recon units, they will try to find the enemy fleet first, which will increase your hit rate and evasion.
Aerial Combat -> if there are aircraft carrying units with offensive air unit they will release the aerial attack.
Open Engagement -> Opening Torpedo firing, all submarine units with torpedoes fire at same time. (Only when unit is Lv 10+)
Open Fire Round 1 -> Range order, all ships except submarines fire alternate between Player and Enemy.
Open Fire Round 2 -> Lineup Order, all ships except submarines fire alternate between Player and (Enemy only happen if either side has a battleship class vessel).
Closing Engagement -> Closing Torpedo firing, all units with torpedoes weapons fire at same time.
Image
Then player can choose if continue in night combat. If you retreat you will return back to base.

In the Night phase, the battle alternate between Player and Enemy in Lineup order starting with the Player, but there's a couple thing to note:
-However, Ship received medium damage or above will be skipped (Orange Mark Warning)
-Formation have no effect in night combat.
-Certain Equipment setups have a chance to cause special attacks at night more damage.
-Night and Day combat counts as only 1 battle so ship entering the Day combat become Red during battle entering Night combat will not be sunk by enemy.
Image

After battle ends whether you are victorious is determined by the performance and is Ranked from S to D.

Just personified ships, most Aircraft Carrier are bow users where the arrows they shoot change into fighter planes. Submarines all wear swimsuits because they go under water etc... Enemies are sea creature look likes... Jellyfish etc...
