No it doesn't, let me clarify it a bit... the kit itself heals the wounds <<<

Situation 1: Puppet gets knocked out
Use Basic repair kit -> puppet revives and in deadly state with no wound
Use Advance repair kit -> puppet revives and in deadly state with no wound
Use Perfect repair kit -> puppet revives and fully healed with no wound

Situation 2: Puppet not knocked out but have wounds
Use Basic repair kit -> you can't use it
Use Advanced repair kit -> puppet's wounds heals but no hp recovered
Use Perfect repair kit -> puppet wound heals and hp recovers

They generally don't get wounds much unless you play with archers too much.

Recent Patch changes the heal rate of the kit:

Modified some content with miniature puppets:
