[KR Update] Metalware (aka reforge) Effect Clarified

Basically, in addition to the original ____ Level ____, it now also adds the value of the effect so you know what it is exactly.

For example:
Cooking Effect Duration 1 Level ---> Cooking effect Duration 1 Level (1 Sec).

From a quick looks at some of the data packed...

Fishing Auto Success 1 level = 1%.
Fishing Chance to Lure 1 level = 1%.
Fishing Size (Auto) 1 level = 1cm.
Fishing Size (Manual) 1 level = 0.25cm.

Party Heal Defense 1 level = 0.25 Defense.
Party Heal Healing 1 level = 2.5 HP.

Hailstorm Range 1 Level = +0.3m

Windmill Damage 1 level = 3%, level 20 = 60%; 310% damage at Rank 1.
Windmill Range 1 level = 0.75% (Yes I said Range, not Radius).

Smash Damage 1 Level = 10%, level 20 = 200%; 700% damage at Rank 1.
Smash Critical 1 Level = 0.5%.

Charge Minimum Distance 1 Level = -1.27m.

Magnum Damage 1 Level = 10%, level 20 = 200%; 700% damage at Rank 1.

Metallurgy Success 1 Level = 1.25%.

Tailor Success 1 Level = 0.8% Bonus
Tailor Production Quality Bonus 1 Level = 0.75%

Speed Movement 1 Level = 3% Increase.

Awakening of Light Cool-down 1 Level = -15 Sec.

And... overall 378 different bonuses (Including the newer generation skill such as Fighter Skills), I am not gonna go into it.
The effects should be compiled by KR sites soon if not already.

The patch also added some changes to certain reforge effects that I am not gonna bother with.

Wait, so the only thing changed in this update is that the xmls contain the data for the effects now? That would be helpful for databases but why would they sneak it in a pack rather than just releasing the info?...

They did release the info... is why you can see the effects when you have mouse over the item...
And it is also why there's the information in the package... Although people have already figured out most of the effects anyway.

As for some alchemy skill effect:
Fire Alchemy Damage 1 level = +1.

Life Drain Damage 1 level = +5.
Life Drain Healing 1 level = +4.

Watercannon Min Damage 1 level = +2.

Do you happen have any idea as to what 1m equates in the game distance units that we're used to? i.e. Long Bow range = 2000, etc.

Previously the Effective Range toolkit added 5% range per level, which would mean 100 range on a 2000 range long bow... not sure how much of a buff/nerf is the 0.7m static boost now.

I believe is... 70?

Obviously the gap value is the increment value per level and the min is the start value the and standard is to apply it to the correct units to the 0.7m.
Is probably not a nerf or buff... because none of the effect is changed, only the descriptions, it is probably an imprecision from players' observations.

Someone can probably test it by having the Effective Range on a bow with 100 distance increase mod to see if the range matches...

I am kind of curious though because Arrow Revolver get its own increase in Attack Range as well

Obviously not as much as the Effective Range value with only 0.25m increase, but I assume it stacks up...

Again, this patch just changed some of the description and fixed some broken effects like changing the Carpentry Bow Production Bonus/Carpentry Bow Production Bonus ---> Carpentry Bow Production Min Bonus/Carpentry Bow Production Max Bonus, there's actually 2 with the same names... I always find it odd it was listed twice on my tool...

I'm not entirely sure that it's a change in the description alone, unless the new description is inaccurate... I've done many tests with range reforges and found the same 5% improvement per level listed oversea sites before this patch to be quite accurate.

A 2200 Elven Long Bow with Lv2 range reforge has slightly more range than my 2400 range Ring Bow ego. Now, if it was 70 range per level... it would not be possible to match my ego with such a bow, and even if it were 100 per level it would not be possible to outrange it.

If it is 5% per level, however... then it is expected to outrange a 2400 range ego bow by a small amount (2420 range at Lv 2).

I also tested ESB ego (2000) with Lv2 range reforge and it matched a 2200 range HLB perfectly.

So... either the description is inaccurate, or the effect was nerfed in this patch? Not to say it didn't need it... because 5k+ range ego bows are just ridiculous.

Well... that's not what my test shows...

Here's my testing tools:

Long Bow 2000 Range with No Upgrade = 2000

I chose testing target on Carnivorous Plant (and special thanks to them too for not moving at all...).

Testing results:
Long Bow vs Masterpiece Bow with Effective Range

Clearly Long Bow is shorter ranged because the % meter didn't start to run at the max range of the Masterpiece Bow with Level 1 Effective Range increase.

Leather Long Bow with +100 Range vs Masterpiece Bow with Effective Range

Clearly this time Masterpiece Bow is shorter because its % meter didn't start to run at the max range of Leather Long Bow with +100 Upgrade.

So... Long Bow < Masterpiece Bow < Leather Long Bow with Upgrade from my test which should not be the case if it was 5% increase. Because that would mean Masterpiece Bow having 2100 range matching with Leather Long Bow.

I actually re-tested and got different results o_o

My ELB can no longer outrange my ego, even though it was able to when I originally did all my testing (maybe 2 months ago or so?). I'm guessing the effect changed sometime since then or some outside factor was at play.
