It's a little hard to tell what's going on without seeing it, but it sounds like maybe you might be focusing too much on one part as you're drawing. Try working on drawing the whole hairstyle overall, instead of concentrating on one area and then moving over to the next part.

so... i noticed that the imp base image was 120x120 pixels, but the avatar size for the forums is limited to 100x100... which made mine too big >:[
solar u mind changing it if possible?
