I don't know about the AI behavior of those things, so I'm not sure. It looks like that guy locked with splash/windmill the two horses in a state that's alert but not attacking, so he does not get multi-aggro from the other types of enemies, whose don't get to aggro because the horses already filled the maximum number of multi-aggro their AI allows. He seems to be very carefully measuring the distance to not Blast those horses. Luring that robed thing behind an obstacle was pretty cool; I'm guessing it's a single-aggro type that doesn't mix with the aggro patterns with other stuff. I'm not sure what made it okay to kill those horses later.

Also, if I played, I would've just gone with Windmill + pets, which would be much faster, more exciting, and more dying to random bullshit! Yeah!!!
